Your First Brow Lamination: What to Expect, Minute by Minute

The short answer

A first brow lamination takes about 45–60 minutes: a short consultation, brow mapping, a lifting cream, a setting lotion, optional tint and shaping, then a nourishing finish. It’s painless — most people relax with their eyes closed. You’ll need a quick patch test 24–48 hours before.

If you’ve never had your brows laminated, it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous. Chemicals near your eyes? A “perm” for brows? Let’s take the mystery out of it.

Before you arrive

  • Patch test: a tiny dab of product behind your ear or on your inner arm, 24–48 hours before. It takes two minutes.
  • Hands off your brows for a week: no tweezing, waxing, threading or trimming — we want every hair we can get.
  • Pause actives: stop retinol and exfoliating acids on your forehead for about a week.
  • Come barefaced around the brows.

Minute by minute

0–10 minutes — Consultation. We sit at the mirror and talk: how you wear your brows now, what you love and don’t, your skincare, any allergies or medications. We’ll be honest if lamination isn’t the right choice.

10–15 minutes — Mapping. A fine pre-inked string and a white pencil help us find your ideal start, arch and tail based on your bone structure, not a stencil.

15–30 minutes — Lift and set. You lie back with your eyes closed. We cleanse the brows, protect the skin, brush on the lifting cream and shape the hairs into place — sometimes under a thin film. After a few minutes it’s removed, and the setting lotion goes on. You may feel a faint tingle. Many people doze off.

30–45 minutes — Tint and shaping (if you’ve booked them). A custom tint for depth, then wax, tweezers and scissors for a clean shape.

45–60 minutes — Nourish and reveal. A keratin-rich treatment restores moisture, we walk you through aftercare, and you meet your new brows in the mirror.

Does it hurt?

No. Lamination is one of the most relaxing treatments we do. Waxing has the usual quick sting, and tweezing a gentle pinch — that’s it. If anything ever feels hot or uncomfortable, say so and we stop immediately.

What will my brows look like?

Very lifted on day one, then softer and more natural after the first wash at 24 hours. By day three, they look like the brows you’ve always wished you woke up with.

After you leave

Keep them dry for 24 hours, no makeup on the brows, and sleep on your back. That’s it. Our full aftercare guide has the rest.
