Before & after

The brow aftercare guide.

Everything you need before your appointment, for the first 24 hours, and for the weeks after — so your brows stay soft, full and beautiful for as long as possible.

Brow oil, spoolie and gentle cleanser for laminated-brow aftercare

Before

The week before

  • No waxing, tweezing, threading or trimming for at least 1 week — we need hair to work with.
  • Pause retinol, AHA/BHA acids and exfoliants on the forehead and brows for 7 days.
  • Avoid sunburn, tanning beds and self-tan on the face for 48 hours.
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free brows (we can cleanse if you’re coming from work).
  • First lamination or tint? Book a quick patch test 24–48 hours before.
  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, on Accutane or recently microbladed? Tell us first — see our FAQ.

The first 24 hours

The golden rules

Keep them dry

No washing over the brows, steamy showers, swimming, saunas, hot yoga or heavy sweating.

Hands & makeup off

No brow gel, pencil, creams or serums on the brows. Try not to rub or touch them.

Sleep on your back

Face-down sleeping can push the hairs out of shape while they finish setting.

After

Weeks 1 to 8

  • Brush your brows into shape each morning with a clean spoolie.
  • Comb in a drop of brow oil or castor oil 2–3 times a week to keep hairs soft and healthy.
  • Use a gentle, oil-free cleanser around the brows — oil-based removers break the set faster.
  • Keep retinol and exfoliating acids off the brows to make results last longer.
  • Wear sunscreen — UV fades tint faster.
  • Wait at least 6 weeks before laminating again; book a Shaping + Tint in between.

Aftercare questions

Come with clean brows and no makeup on them. Do not wax, tweeze or trim for at least a week beforehand so we have hair to work with, pause retinol and exfoliants near the brows for a week, and avoid tanning or sunburn on the face for 48 hours.

Keep your brows completely dry for 24 hours — that means no face washing over the brows, steamy showers, swimming, saunas, hot yoga or heavy sweating. After 24 hours you can wash and shower normally.

For the first 24 hours: keep them dry, avoid makeup and creams on the brows, and try not to sleep face-down. After that, brush them into shape each morning and comb in a drop of brow oil or castor oil a few times a week. Avoid oil-based cleansers and retinol directly on the brows to make results last.

Skip makeup, brow gel and creams on the brows for 24 hours. Sunscreen on the rest of your face is fine and encouraged. After a day you can go back to your normal routine.

They can look a little “set” and straight-up for the first day — that is normal. Once you wash them after 24 hours they soften into a natural, brushed-up shape, and most clients say days 2–5 look their best.

Tell us within a few days. We can usually adjust shaping or tint, and the lamination itself naturally relaxes within a few weeks. Brushing them in a different direction each morning softens the look in the meantime.
